National Eating Disorders Awareness Week

Feb. 21-27 2010 is a week to reflect on the devastating effects of eating disorders

Now in its 23nd year, NEDAwareness Week, brings national attention to the severity of eating disorders, which are mental illnesses with often life-threatening physical consequences. In the U.S. as many as 10 million females and one million males struggle with the devastating effects of anorexia and bulimia. Another 25 million suffer from binge eating disorder. While recovery is possible, especially with early intervention, many people suffer from long-term effects of these illnesses.

The National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) is sponsoring this awareness week.
"Beauty in the Eyes of the Beheld" is included in NEDA's educational tool list. Have your school or community organization organize a screening of it for NEDA week.
